January 2010 - December 2010 'Let's get the Nation Laughing' - Campaign

Laughter for Africa, hosted a public Laughter Seminar and Show on the 15 June 2010 at 7 pm at the Library in Stellenbosch. This is part of the 'Let's get the Nation Laughing Campaign'. The aim of this campaign is to educated people about the benefits of laughter for yourself, your family & the community. View Poster on the Show!

The seminar is to show people that you can laugh without using comedy, jokes and humour - all that is needed is a willingness to laugh. Scientific studies have shown that children up to the age of 8 years - laugh an average of about 300 times a day. This is because they laugh with their bodies and not their minds. Adults on the other hand, laugh on average only about 10 times a day, because they laugh with their minds. During this laughter seminar, we become like children again and we laugh for no reason at all.

This Laughter Seminar is presented by Martin Combrinck, international certified Laughter Professional. The Laughter Show is presented by two well-known actors, Bennie Jacobs and Redione Stephens from 'Lollos' fame.

'Let's get the Nation Laughing Campaign'

Previous years, Laughter for Africa was instrumental to organise World Laughter Day activities during May of each year in Cape Town.

This year however, we decided to celebrate World Laughter Day differently. To make lasting changes and bring laughter in your life more, we decided to rather focus on the National Laughter Campaign - 'Let's get the Nation Laughing Campaign'

Join us in this laughter campaign to show the world during the Soccer World Cup in 2010 that we as South Africans can laugh together. It is a fact that laughter is truly the best medicine and can be used as a positive force for change.

We have embarked on a national campaign throughout South Africa to promote Laughter as a tool for health and wellness.

Join our Laughter Pledge and dedicated yourself for 21 days to laugh everyday! It is a known fact that it takes an average of 21 days to install a new habit.

Let us great the visitors to SA for the Soccer World Cup with Laughter!

This campaign aims to fulfil our mission: Spreading Health, Happiness and Peace through Laughter to all the people in South Africa!
